Students, teachers and staff in the Half Hollow Hills Central School District are taking time this Veterans Day to display their gratitude for the men and women who have served in our country’s armed services. Students in the elementary and middle schools have been working on projects to thank veterans for protecting our freedoms, while faculty and staff at Half Hollow Hills High School West have fundraised to support a charity that benefits veterans in need.
Congratulations to Hills East’s Abigail Newman & Ethan Koval and Hills West’s Ashley Rogers & William Jennings for being selected to receive Suffolk Zone Senior Awards. One male and one female senior are selected by the physical education staff for their physical education class average and character.
The Half Hollow Hills community took part in a Safe Halloween at Hills East yesterday, where parents and children could safely trick or treat in classrooms decorated and staffed by high school clubs.

4th graders from Otsego and Sunquam participated in the 10th Annual SCMEA PEAK festival on Saturday, October 27th. The PEAK (Parents, Educators, and Kids) festival is a celebration of elementary classroom music and a unique experience where parents, educators and kids can participate together.
The Half Hollow Hills community had a great time coming together for the SEPTA Kids Fun Day & Makers Fair, an educational day disguised as play with demonstrations and hands-on activities for students of all ages!
The New York State School Boards Association recognizes October 22-26 as School Board Recognition Week, which is a time to promote awareness and understanding of the important work performed by school board members. The Half Hollow Hills Central School District of Huntington and Babylon is joining all public school districts across the state to celebrate School Board Recognition Week to honor local board members for their commitment to our community and children.
