Seven Math Scholars Named To The Institute Of Creative Problem Solving

The Institute of Creative Problem Solving for Gifted and Talented Students at SUNY College at Old Westbury recently announced that the following Half Hollow Hills Central School District students have been accepted to the Institute to pursue the study of mathematics and its applications: Julia Fitlin, Benjamin Goldfried, Michael Han, Nicholas Han, Dylan Keskinyan, Ryan Peskin, and Niyanth Ponnusamy.

Half Hollow Hills Musicians Receive All-State Honors From NYSSMA

The New York State Music Association has made its selection of students who will participate in the 2018 NYSSMA Conference All-State music groups, and the Half Hollow Hills Central School District is very proud to have seven All-State musicians chosen to take part in this year’s Winter Conference. An additional 12 student musicians from the district were selected as alternates, and may be chosen to fill any openings in the performances.

Half Hollow Hills Seniors Receive Scholar-Artist Awards Of Merit

The Long Island Arts Alliance announced the 2019 Long Island Scholar-Artist award winners and Award of Merit recipients at a kickoff event on September 12, 2018, at Long Island University’s Tilles Center. Half Hollow Hills is proud to have three of its students recognized as Award of Merit recipients, for their excellence in academics and in the areas of music, visual arts, dance, theater, or media arts.

 

The Award of Merit recipients from Half Hollow Hills are:

- Rebecca Farber, Media Arts, High School East

- Rachel Goldsmith, Visual Arts, High School East

Elementary Family Picnics & Movie Night

All five elementary schools in Half Hollow Hills held their annual beginning of the year family activities, which included numerous family picnics and a family movie night. Students and their families had a great time gathering for good food and lots of fun to kick-off the new school year!
