Breakfast and Lunch Program - Menus
*Supply Chain Issues*
Food shortages are a nationwide issue and, just like others in the food service industry, school district food service programs across Long Island are unfortunately also feeling the effects. Here at Half Hollow Hills, we are actively working with our manufacturers and distributors to ensure we have an ample food supply, but expect that we will need to alter our pre-planned menus with little to no advanced notice. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this challenge. We look forward to continue offering delicious and nutritious breakfasts and lunches at no cost to any of our students this school year.
For the 2021-2022 school year, all Half Hollow Hills students will have access to free breakfast and/or free lunch provided by the school under the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) of the National School Lunch Program! For more information on this opportunity, please view the attached letter from our Food Services Manager or follow this link for a PDF copy of the letter: LINK
We believe, by providing high quality, nutritiously prepared meals, our Child Nutrition Program is a critical part of the total school experience.
A healthy diet:
- is well-balanced and reasonably-portioned.
- is filled with a variety of grains, vegetables, fruits, and proteins.
- positively effects on students' health, happiness, and educational success.
- is essential for student wellness.
- is a vital link to the intellectual fitness of our students.
The Half Hollow Hills School District is committed to preparing and serving nutritionally appropriate food to our school-age consumers that conform to the "Dietary Guidelines for Americans".
We encourage your child's participation in our innovative food service program and thank you for your continued support.
