"Arts-in-Education"

Program Overview

"Arts-in-Education", also known as "Arts-in-Ed" or "AiE", is a district-wide, PTA-sponsored program that provides Half Hollow Hills students with the opportunity to engage in various arts and/or enrichment programs that go well beyond the normal scope of our district's curricula. These programs range in variety from cultural experiences in the various arts to science programs to health and physical education related topics. Wonderful programs such as "Kid Power", "National Circus", "iGames ", "Petra Puppets", "Squeaky Clean", "Express Yourself", "Theatreworks", "Cirque Du Jour", "Box Out Bullying" and "Broccoli Rob" are just some of the fabulous opportunities the PTA provides our children throughout the school year.

Funding for these programs is entirely provided by the PTA and is the largest part of each school's annual budget. To raise funds, each school building's PTA raises money by hosting various fundraising events throughout the year. Contracts and purchase orders for all programs are channeled through Suffolk BOCES and are therefore, state-aidable giving our PTA more bang for the buck!

"Arts-in-Ed" chairpeople are selected for each school who, with input from teachers and administration, select and book the various events. In addition, the PTA Council elects two district-wide co-chairpeople to facilitate monthly meetings along with our Director of Fine Arts in an effort to evaluate programs and to seek out new opportunities for our children.
