Business Honor Society

Business students have the opportunity to become members of the Business Honor Society. This organization recognizes those students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in a secondary business/marketing program. The goals of the Business Honor Society are to create enthusiasm for learning, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership and to foster an interest in the world of business.

 

Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA)

 

HS East Advisor: Mr. Cappiello
HS West Advisor:  Ms. Bauer

 

This organization, whose program of leadership and personal development, is designed specifically for students interested in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. The goals of DECA are to promote leadership development, civic consciousness, social intelligence, and vocational understanding.

 

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

HS East Advisor: Mrs. Cappiello
HS West Advisor: Mr. Gannon

 

FBLA is a nonprofit educational association of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. This organization provides students the opportunity to see how businesses operate as well as get involved in business competitions in New York State.

Goals of FBLA:

  • Promote competent, aggressive business leadership
  • Understand American business enterprise.
  • Establish career goals.
  • Encourage scholarship.
  • Promote sound financial management.
  • Develop character and self-confidence.
  • Facilitate transition from school to work.
