Welcome Paumanok Families!
In the library, students are exposed to different types of literature, technology, and educational tools to enhance their learning experience. And of course, we will be checking out books! I am excited for a new year of exploring, learning, playing and growing through reading.
With appreciation, Ms. Walsh
Mission
Here in the library, we strive to nurture students’ love of reading, inspire curiosity, educate them to become detectives in a world of print and media, and encourage each child to find his or her own unique way of contributing to the school community as well as the greater Half Hollow Hills community.
Schedule
The Paumanok Library Media Center is open every day during school hours. Extra Learning time is on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:25.
Each class will come to the library on its assigned day for 40 minutes during their scheduled time.
Circulation Policy
There will be time to borrow books during each library visit. Students in grades K-2 select one book each week, while students in grades 3-5 can select 2 books each week. Students who have returned their books will be able to select new books. Students who have not returned their books will not be able to check out new books, until their books are returned.
Fines and Lost Books
There are no fines for returning a book late, but students will not be able to take new books home until the book is returned. Students are responsible for lost or damaged books and will be charged the replacement cost of the book. If you would like to replace the book with the same title, that is also an option.
