Congratulations to our Science Research students from Hills West who won or placed at the 2021 local American Chemical Society Chemagination Competition!

 

Seoyhun (Christina) Lee and Mariam Hassan won 1st place in the Medicine and Health category for their project: No More Forget-Me-Nots (Hsp104 for Degrading Protein Aggregates in Alzheimer’s Disease); Viti Chandra, Ellis Eisenberg and Alex Huang won 1st place in the Environment category for their project: Re-MOF-ing Rocket Emissions (The Use of Metal-Organic Frameworks as a Green Alternative to Hydrazine in Rocket Propulsion); and Sarah Choi, Arra Ju and Nina Su won 2nd place in the Medicine and Health category for their project: Pathopatch (Using Microneedle Array Patches Incorporating CDHR3 Protein Mimetics and Adjuvants in Nanoparticle Formulation as a Common Cold Virus Vaccine).

 

The competition required students to imagine how current science and technology will be advanced in 25 years, and to design an innovation rooted in current scientific knowledge and technology that would improve the quality of our lives. #HHHCSD
