Members of West Hollow's One World Club, Jewish Heritage Club and Muslim Students Association recently had a shared experience at the Holocaust Museum and Tolerance Center where they took a thorough docent-led tour, and then heard from the daughter of two Holocaust survivors to learn about their experiences and her family.

Members of West Hollow's One World Club, Jewish Heritage Club and Muslim Students Association recently had a shared experience at the Holocaust Museum and Tolerance Center where they took a thorough docent-led tour, and then heard from the daughter of two Holocaust survivors to learn about their experiences and her family.

 

The docent spoke at length with students about the choice to be the perpetrator, collaborator, bystander or upstander and posed to them the Upstander Challenge - to do something upstanding each day for the next 30 days so that it can become a habit.

 

Students tackled words like prejudice, hatred, intolerance and antisemitism in eye-opening discussions throughout the day.
