Faced with the challenge of saving Fred, a gummy worm whose plastic cup boat had capsized before he had been able to get to his gummy life preserver, Ms. Chiam's 5th graders at Paumanok worked cooperatively in pairs using only shared ideas and paperclips (no hands!) to help Fred get into his lifesaver.
