Over 24 teams from Hills East and Hills West participated in the 14th Annual King of the Hills business competition, held March 25–26 at Hills West. Modeled after Shark Tank, students pitched original product ideas to a panel of judges.
First place went to Ryan Shulman, Reece Weinkranz, and Ian O'Donnell for Pocket Press, a portable iron designed for on-the-go use.
Second place was awarded to Zachory Hirschhorn, Cody Tannenbaum, Cole Kirschenbaum, and Chris Lefcofrides for Sunrise Simulator, a lighting device that mimics a natural sunrise.
In third place, Evan Deutsch, Brendan Johnson, and Samer Chowdhury created Neuroguard, a patch designed to help detect concussions.
Fourth place went to Arjandeep Chahal, Sehaj Singh, and Avinash Rambaram for Auto Armor, a scratch-resistant car wax.
Rounding out the top five, Matt Leonard, Dennis Manfredi, Jeff Lucas, Tyler Chen, and Dylan Solomon took fifth place with Adrena Case, a phone-mounted holder for an AUVI-Q epinephrine injector.
