Congratulations to Hills West senior Veronica Pelis and Hills East senior Jillian Lyons for being selected for the prestigious Long Island’s Best: Young Artists 2026 exhibit at the Heckscher Museum of Art.

Veronica, a student in Ms. Ievolo’s AP Art class at High School West, was chosen for her powerful painting Cut to Market, inspired by Robert Rauschenberg and exploring themes of consumerism and pharmaceutical capitalism.

Jillian, a senior in Mr. Petrucci’s Design & Illustration IV class at High School East, was selected for her striking pastel piece Just Like You.

This year’s exhibition had a record-breaking 400 submissions, with only 84 works accepted an incredible honor and testament to their talent and dedication. Exhibition dates are March 29 – May 3, 2026 at the Heckscher Museum.
