The Suffolk County Basketball Coaches Association recently awarded the Alexander Aurrichio Award (Hills West Class of 2008) to a student-athlete who exemplified high character, integrity, loyalty, and commitment to his team. Senior Derek Varlack of Hills East was selected by former Hills West boys basketball coach, Bill Mitaritonna, and 2022 Suffolk County Coach of the year, Pete Basel of Hills East.
