Candlewood students participated in the GLSEN Annual National Day of Silence, where they took the pledge to stay silent  to stand with our LGBTQ students as allies and to support their right to live authentically.

April 23rd was GLSEN’s 26th Annual National Day of Silence, a national student-led demonstration where LGBTQ students and allies all around the country—and the world—take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ people in schools.

More than 20 students at Candlewood took the pledge to stay silent throughout the school day in honor of all the voices that go unheard. Students and staff wore red to stand with our LGBTQ students as allies and to support their right to live authentically.
