A Message from Dr. Patrick Harrigan, Superintendent of Schools
On behalf of the Half Hollow Hills Central School District Board of Education, we are saddened to share the news of the passing of community member and former school board president, Philip 'Fred' Meschutt.
Mr. Meschutt served our educational community as a trustee on the Half Hollow Hills Board of Education during its earliest years as a centralized school district, from approximately 1957 to 1963. During that time, he took on leadership roles including service as board president. He also served the community as a cofounder of the Dix Hills United Methodist Church and a member of the Dix Hills Fire Department for 64 years.
The Half Hollow Hills Central School District is thankful for Mr. Meschutt's many years of committed service to our students and community, and offers condolences to his family and friends.
