Thank you for your interest in serving as a Trustee on the Half Hollow Hills Board of Education.

The application period for the Half Hollow Hills Board of Education Trustee vacancy closed on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

On July 15, 2026, the Half Hollow Hills Board of Education announced a vacancy on the Board of Education. In accordance with Half Hollow Hills Policy 2150, the Board will fill the vacancy through an open application and interview process.

The appointed Trustee will serve from the date of appointment through May 18, 2027, the date of the next Trustee election.

Candidate Qualifications

The qualifications of a candidate for the office of member of the Board of Education, as outlined in Policy 2121, are that the candidate:

1. Must be able to read and write.
2. Must be a qualified voter of the district, that is, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age and not adjudged to be an incompetent.

Note: A convicted felon is barred from serving on a board of education if his or her maximum prison sentence has not expired or if he or she has not been pardoned or discharged from parole.

3. Must be and have been a resident of the school district for at least one year prior to election.
4. May not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding year.
5. May not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family.
6. May not be a current employee of the school board.
7. May not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office.

Candidates interested in being considered for the position must:

1. Complete the Board of Education Trustee Vacancy Application.
2. Submit a resume to District Clerk Mrs. Lisa Cosentino at lcosentino@hhh.k12.ny.us.
3. Submit all materials by Friday, October 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
