Dear Half Hollow Hills Family,
Recently, the Half Hollow Hills Board of Education secured the services of Western Suffolk BOCES (WSBOCES) to facilitate the search and recruitment process for an Interim Superintendent of Schools. After meeting with and interviewing the candidates, the Board voted last night to appoint Mr. Brian Conboy as the Interim Superintendent of Schools for our district.
Mr. Conboy brings a wealth of experience to the district, having worked for 40 years in the field of education. After retiring as the Superintendent of Schools in the Seaford School District in 2017, he served as the Interim Superintendent in both the Babylon and Massapequa school districts, and most recently worked as the Interim Principal of Floral Park Memorial High School. He will begin working in his new role effective October 26, 2024.
As our transition plan continues, the Board will begin working with WSBOCES on the search for a new permanent Superintendent of Schools. WSBOCES brings years of experience and a proven track record of success, offering this valuable service at no additional cost.
We are dedicated to conducting a transparent and thorough process to select a new permanent Superintendent of Schools who aligns with our vision for the future of Half Hollow Hills and is deeply committed to the success of all our students. In the coming weeks, the Board will begin engaging with the district’s many stakeholder groups to explain the next steps, ensure transparency throughout the search, and enlist community and staff member input in the decision-making process.
Please join us in welcoming Mr. Conboy to the wonderful educational community that is Half Hollow Hills!
Warm regards,
Diana Acampora
President, Half Hollow Hills Board of Education
